Best Way To Tackle Oily Skin

As it is, the world today pays lots of attention to image, and any time we interact with each other, there are certain features in our body that tend to stand out. The skin, for example, is what people tend to examine a lot when they interact with you. It can either be smooth and shiny or dry; fresh and moisturized or greasy and full of bumps and pores.

Oily skin is caused by the overproduction of sebum from the sebaceous glands. Sebum is important because it moisturizes and protects the skin. However, overproduction of sebum can lead to clogged pores.

This condition is primarily caused by genetics especially the hormones that activate oil gland activity. Some individuals have overactive oil glands that go on past puberty into adulthood. Other factors that can cause the skin to be oily include climate especially hot environments, diet, and poor skin care practices.  Let’s explore some of the ways that you can use to get rid of the excess oil on your skin.

Microdermabrasion

This treatment uses a minimal abrasive instrument to sand the skin, removing an uneven thick outer layer. One of the many advantages of having a microdermabrasion is that this treatment reduces or eliminates enlarged pores. Microdermabrasion deep cleans the pores and helps prevent an acne breakout. It also exfoliates your skin giving your skin a refreshed look.

Another perk about this treatment is that it helps thicken your collagen. Collagen is a protein responsible for making your skin look smooth and younger. As we grow older, production of collagen reduces and becomes looser. This procedure gives your skin a bright and youthful appearance.

Photofacials

A Photofacial is a procedure where powerful pulses of light are used to go in deep into the skin. This process helps remove large pores from the skin. It also helps fuel your skin’s natural healing process and generate collagen production. A photo facial session takes about 30 minutes making it the ideal option for people with busy schedules. The other advantage of this procedure is that it involves minimal discomfort.  After treatment, you may experience some swelling and redness. This, however, will disappear in a short while.

Chemical Peels

This procedure is a simple and quick way for you to attain your smooth glow. It is a treatment whereby an acid solution is used to eliminate the damaged outer layer of the skin which also means that the blemishes or imperfections within the layers are removed as well.

Micro Needling

Micro needling is a procedure whereby fine needles are used to create lots of tiny, invisible wounds on the top layer of the skin. This stimulates a natural healing process which then results in increased collagen production. Micro needling helps the pores appear much smaller and smaller pores are a good thing for the skin.

However, do note that getting rid of excess oil from your skin isn’t advisable. Doing so will encourage the skin to produce more because having very little oil on the skin actually damages it. Use some of these options to ensure that your skin isn’t stripped of all its moisture!
