Have You Encountered Dermal Filler Complications?

It is common to find one or two complaints from unfulfilled plastic surgery patients. As such is life! You may not be happy about the results, but there are ways in which you can reverse, hide or accommodate some of the things that the dermatologist may have overdone or underdone. Here are a few things that are commonly encountered after an unsuccessful procedure and how to deal with them.

Bruising unexpectedly

You should expect some minimal bruising after dermal filling. If done by an expert, the bruising or any red spot appearing can be quickly managed. Since the bruise can neither be fixed nor cured, the best thing is to try avoid too much of it before the operation. You however can easily hide it in makeup after wards.

A few preparations are needed to have the bruises maintained before the procedure. Never take aspirin 1 week to the procedure. Also, the surgeon discourages the taking of vitamin E 1 a week towards the injections. However, you can keep up with your multivitamins. You should also avoid alcohol and garlic 2 days to the procedure, as this will directly affect your results. Pineapples are greatly encouraged 2 days to the injection as well.

Asymmetry

All of us have one or two parts of our bodies that may not give the symmetry we desire. This is perfectly normal, and gives us the uniqueness we all have. However, you can have a procedure done to create the evenness, and after the procedure, your symmetry should have gained shape.

If not, just relax and wait for a week. Most of the time, the bruising will affect the symmetry by causing a temporary bump on the face. If the area is still asymmetrical after a week, then you will have to book an appointment with the plastic surgery expert to have it redone.

Overfilling – too puffy!

As above, overfilling causes the asymmetry that you are trying to get rid of, but it should wear off after a week or so. After 10 days, if the puffy area does not change, your dermatologist will have it redone by injecting some enzymes to the area to reduce the amount of fullness.

Lumps and bumps

Sometimes, the patient may feel a little discomfort on the area being redone after the injection. After a week there may be small bumps that can be felt inside the filler area that may cause some panic. While this is a common feature, do take note of it and have the dermatologist take a look at it and advice. He may remove some of the filler to get rid of the bump or may recommend that a little more time should be given to monitor the behavior of the area.

On rare occasions, an inexperienced expert may inject some filler and affect a blood vessel, blocking it. The most common area to be affected is below the nose, and the area around the frown line. If a purple or a red blotchy feel appears after such a procedure, contact your doctor immediately. This has to be corrected before the bruise turns into a scar.
